Prayer Jar

I was looking for a way to help my family be more consistent about praying together for others and I'm hoping this prayer jar will be a lovely reminder.

This project was so easy! I started with this simple glass bowl from Michael's for $2

I had a very old book I purchased at an antique store years ago and pulled out a few pages. I crumpled and inked them.

Next I ripped the pages and ModPodged them into the bottom half of the bowl. I attached 3 large paper fasteners and a homemade tag to black ribbon and hot glued that around the bowl. Is there anything hot glue can't do??!!
My favorite part is the tag:

I already made some slips of paper to put into the bowl and I will have my kids make some as well. Each night at dinner we can pull out a paper and pray for that person or organization.

Here is the finished project. I'm so happy with how it came out. If you try one I'd love to hear about it!
