A Prayer

"Lord, I pray that Hubby will find his identity in You. Help him to understand his worth through Your eyes and by Your standards. May he recognize the unique qualities You've placed in him and be able to appreciate them. Enable him to see himself the way You see him, understanding that "You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet" (Psalm 8:4-6). Quiet the voices that tell him otherwise and give him ears to hear Your voice telling him that it will not be his perfection that gets him through life successfully, it will be Yours.
Reveal to him that "he is the image and glory of God" (1 Corinthians 11:7), and he is "complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power"(Colossians 2:10) Give him the peace and security of knowing that he is accepted, not rejected, by You. Free him from the self-focus and self-conciousness that can imprison his soul. Help him to see who You really are so he'll know who he really is. May his true self-image be the image of Christ stamped upon his soul."

The Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian

I read this book years ago and it completely changed how I thought about praying for Hubby.  I dusted this book off today because we need to be prayer warriors for our husbands and I needed a reminder. This is my prayer for him today.

Yes! I read this book right after we got married (was actually given as a wedding gift) and it completely changed my expectations and how I am called to pray for my husband. LOVE how the first chapter is praying for his wife. :)

As you know, Im a big advocate of loving on our hubbies, not nagging,etc...
Ive never read this book but I feel that part of our ministry will be related to marriage & the family someday.
But guess what? Last night Eric came home with BIG NEWS for our future and what did I do? I blew up at him.(I know right? I mean, I retreat quietly...I dont blow up). This led to hours of me crying and crying out to the Lord for comfort, peace and obedience.
I'll keep you posted but I really need the support of my girlfriends right now. Please put me on the prayer list:)

i heard a teaching once that as a single woman I should be praying for my future husband, whether I know him now or not. This reminded me of how I used to do that years ago...I'll have to get back to that! Thanks for the reminder and I love, love, love your blog!

This book is on my nightstand. I love to read a prayer when he isn't home... make me feel closer him to pray for him.

(It is also a miracle worker when I am angry over something and need an attitude adjustment... )
