"we encourage" - Step Out

Can I encourage you to step out?

To step out of your comfort zone?

To not miss what God may have for you?

I stepped out this weekend and God blessed me in more ways than I could have hoped for.
If you visit my blog regularly you know I attended blog sugar this weekend.
It was amazing. Actually I'm still processing it all. I'm still trying to process the blessing of spending time with women who's words have made me laugh and cry. Women who inspire me creatively by making beautiful things, taking beautiful pictures and writing words that lift me up.

My Blog Sugar post will be coming, but today...I want to know what your "Blog Sugar" is. What opportunity is God putting in your path? What are you saying to talk yourself out of it?
Can I challenge you to set aside your nerves or insecurities and prayerfully consider taking a risk?

I could have stayed home. It would have been safer. Maybe these women are nothing like I imagine. Maybe I'll have a horrible time. Maybe I'll be too self conscious.

You know what I forgot?

How big God is. He showed up in a huge way. I drove down south all by myself {the fact that I didn't get lost and break out into a cold sweat or tears is a huge accomplishment}, I strengthened some wonderful new  friendships with amazing women. We shared our hearts, we laughed, we discussed our faith, and of course, we shopped. I was encouraged by the speakers to tell my story, because it's mine, and somebody might need to hear it.

I'm grateful the Lord put this opportunity in front of me... I'm grateful I listened.

Thank you for this, Jami. I feel out of my comfort zone physically, being in that I'm a new town... but I know that God is stretching me out of my comfort zone emotionally, as well. It's my prayer that God shows me exactly where He wants me right now. I don't necessarily feel Him showing me exactly where to go right now, but rather, just be patient... love you girl, and thank you for this! Life is so much more interesting when it's not comfortable, as hard as that is! Soooooooo glad you had a great time at BlogSugar! Can't wait for next year!!! Woot woot! xo

I am so happy to link up this week, Jami! I am a first timer :) I am encouraged just by your faithfulness to provide this forum for people to share God's goodness with each other. Thank you. And thanks for the encouragement to step out and take a risk. That's what we're called to do, but I get caught up in my own insecurities and second guessing. Great reminder.

I love your words of encouragement Jami! Sometimes in the busy-ness of daily life I can't even hear His voice.. it's drowned out by wants, my thoughts and my ego {and my kids voices}. I need to work on listening a little better. Thank you so much for this! <3

It sounds like it was an amazing time! :) I am glad God put the opportunity on your heart and that you gained so much through the experience! I have always loved writing and have wanted to start a blog for quite some time. When i finally got the nerve to "make" one...I kept it private for a year and only added posts here and there. Then...a major life experience happened to me this summer, and it really got me thinking that I need to step out of my comfort zone and share my heart and my faith! Thanks for the encouragement to keep going!

Jami, I was sooo happy to see you there! Your smile and warmth was so calming to me as I was feeling a bit anxious about the whole thing. Love this post!

Love, love, love how faithful He always is to show He's bigger than anything we could ever go through. I constantly have to remind myself of this as I constantly want to shrink back...thanks, Jami.:)

Trust in God. It all boils down to that. I would love to go to Blog Sugar next year, but it would be totally stepping out of my comfort zone - not knowing anyone and so on. But it would be amazing to have fellowship with all of the ladies who inspire me daily. I am so glad you were able to step out of your comfort zone and trust in Him. I can't wait to hear all about it!

My post today is about exactly the same thing. Sometimes God wants you have to take risks. While it may be horrifying in the midst of it, He always blesses us in the end.

yes, yes, yes. this is exactly how i felt all weekend: what if i would have missed all this, just because i was scared? it makes me think about the really big things God has planned for me, and how i *really* don't want to miss out on those because of fear, you know? so this weekend was a great lesson for me too.

You drove down south? Does this mean you're a native Cali girl like me? Not that I'm thrilled to be claiming this! I'd move if I could! But it does seem like there are a lot of bloggers for Cali.

Can't wait to hear more about Blog Sugar...

And great encouraging post on stepping out of your comfort zone and letting GOd lead.

Jami, just wanted to thank you again for this! There is so much evil in the world, so much tragedy and it is such a blessing being able to come together as a group of believers and encourage one another! Thank you so much
