"We Encourage"

Today for "We Encourage" I want to share something with you that I was encouraged by last week.
I know all of us have had those moments where we wonder if everything we are doing is noticed. Whether we are stay at home moms, working moms, working wives or whatever fits you,  it must have crossed your mind. I know it has crossed mine.
Hubby and I are not only trying to train our children in "the way they should go" , we also want them to have fun. I pray they will enoy being in this home and have fond memories of their time growing up here. I will admit, however, on some of those long tedious days I lose sight of that. I'm certainly not always "fun mom".

On Thursday night I went to back to school night and my first stop was in J's 1st grade class. On her desk was her "All About Me" poster she had made that week.

Try not to be distracted by the amazing spelling skills she has. She must take after her Daddy.

In typical Jami form I could barely make it through the classroom time. I spent most of my time staring at her poster. And when her teacher gave us paper to write a letter to our student I almost lost it. Not to worry, I didn't completely embarrass myself and I was able to hold back the waterworks.

I was instantly grateful that God provided this moment. This moment that acknowledges that even though Hubby and I are far from perfect, J does love being a part of this home. This family. God has blessed us with the job of raising these beautiful kids and I'll take any little piece of encouragement I can get.

This is so sweet! Don't you LOVE when the Lord blesses with the unexpected. I think that the Lord allows our children to somehow not hold onto all our failures and shot comings and embrace the love we try to give and show. I'm so thankful for this!
Blessings on your day!

Jami, this is sooo sweet. I feel like the Lord encourages us through our kiddos to let us know they're "getting it". :)

Oh my gosh Jami!
What a sweet blessing those little drawings are. It touches my heart so much to know that your little one's favorite place to be is at home and with her family.
What a gift for back to school night!

Jami, you are an amazing mother and although at times it might feel as if what you do every day goes unnoticed, I think it is obvious to us and to your family that you are making an incredible impact. I have no doubt in my mind that your children will "rise up and call you blessed." xoxo

I've truly enjoyed those "About ME" posters as my kids have had to do them throughout the years. The other day my son got mad at me and ripped off every picture from his poster ;(..I was so mad...

I love these moments too. I was really concerned how my big girl would handle having mommy as her 3rd grade class teacher this year. Well God is good b/c she loves it, I love it and she freely makes me love notes, postcards and pieces of artwork during free time telling me how much she loves me and how we have the best class ever.
We must be doin somethin right!:) I linked up for the first time today,BTW.
