We Encourage - It IS Better To Give

Today I am going to share an experience I was blessed to be a part of this evening. Our church put out a challenge to us.
Bless someone this Christmas.
They asked for volunteers who were willing to take on the challenge.
Our dear friends, Hubby & I said yes.

God moved in a huge way. My friend told the congregation we had a couple families who had been on our hearts for a few weeks now.
Within 15 minutes of the service ending God turned $0 into $1200!
Amazing!

I was truly amazed at the generosity of these people. They didn't ask who was receiving the money...they didn't want any credit.
They were simply a group of people who wanted to share the hope of Christmas and give God the glory.
I am humbled to have participated.

"Out of the most severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able,. and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the saints."
2 Corinthians 8:2-4

We were able to find a young helper who allowed us to bless these families anonymously and help them hold onto hope this Christmas.
I'm not sure if anything this season will come close to filling my heart the way this project did. I gained so much from having a small part in showing the love of Christ to people who need it.

It has been on my heart that this shouldn't stop with Christmas. So my brain will be working on that for a little while. I'll let you know what I come up with.

Posting will be a little sporadic the next couple of weeks. I want to take every moment and enjoy Christmas vacation with my munchkins. Looking forward to what the new year will bring.

Merry Christmas!

I love seeing the Word of God lived OUT! PTL on this! Jesus tells us to not flaunt it when we do something good like this, He tells us to do it secretly, and not to boast, so I loved hearing about the heart of those people you mentioned!
Thanks for sharing your heart too!

God is so good! Thank you for sharing. And I agree, it shouldn't stop at Christmas. I think it's great how Christmas brings people together and opens our hearts, but it should be a year-round openness and love we share for each other. Enjoy time with your kiddos! Merry Christmas!
