I was on Instagram one day and the lovely Cherish had a picture of her "snack crate".
It was this cute little wooden crate with all these pre-packaged snack bags in it.
Let's say it together...BRILLIANT!
My kids ask me for snacks at least 1000 times a day.
I feel like most of my time is spent making some sort of meal or snack
So I ran right out to my local antique store {like I need an excuse} and found my own snack crate.
Voila
I'm in love, seriously.
Now when the kids want a snack they just go to the crate and they are all set.
There are granola bars, bags filled with pretzels and goldfish, trail mix and juice boxes.
It gets a little tricky trying to keep C out of there. She's a sneaky one. But other than that it's perfect.
This small thing has made such a difference in my day. A half an hour of prep sets me up for the whole week. Now I just need to figure out a system in my fridge for the fruit and veggie snacks. Any ideas?
Get on this snack crate idea friends. It will change your life. I promise.

Love your crate! :) I don't have a pretty crate, but we do have a plastic drawer in our pantry for JUST that purpose! :) When the little one asks for a snack, she knows where to go to get something that's parent-approved and just within her reach! :)

I buy little containers with lids and keep cut up strawberries with sugar, grapes all ready washed and pulled of the vine, and other fruit that don't brown up and they can get those as they please...
I am still trying to figure out how to get my kiddos to eat veggies...lol.
Are you kidding me? I blogged about the same thing this morning...only I'm suing my "new"(=OLD) crate for art supplies on our dining room table so the girls can get at them easily.

Hey there! I'm not a mom, but a snack crate is a wonderful idea for just my husband and me! Some of our snacks need to be refrigerated (fruit, veggies, cheese, etc.). Have you seen a refrigerator version of this?

great find Jami!!!! we have a basket in our pantry, that I can reach into easily but I forget to "refill" it sometimes! It serously saves time and effort though!! SO cute!!!
