Summer, Summer, Summer

Yes, when I say "Summer, Summer, Summer", I am definitely chanting it exactly like the first scene from High School Musical 2.
Don't get me started or I may just sing the whole song.

All that stands between us and Summer is 2 half days of school.
I CAN NOT wait.

My prayer for this Summer is simple.

Making memories doing things the kids love to do.

I'm hoping myself and my 2 oldest will get some reading in during Baby C's nap time.
With some puzzles for Nathan we should be able to get that accomplished.
I can see a lot of time spent at the pool.

My hope is that we can really enjoy our time together, and some time with friends.
So, here is how I began my Summer prep...

There are enough art supplies here to choke a horse {isn't that a saying?}.
Anyway, my kids were beyond excited.
There are water colors, finger paints, play dough, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, markers and big pads of paper.

They are all in a bin, sitting outside just waiting for free time. I have a table with a happy oilcloth and 4 chairs just waiting to be filled.

And of course no Summer is complete without a fun sprinkler toy to run through.

Look how happy those children look. How can I go wrong?

I encourage us all to make the most of our time this Summer. As my kids get older I realize more and more how busy we can let ourselves become. I want to slow down, rest and play.

What are your plans this Summer?
What kind of memories are you hoping for?
And if you have any great activities or ideas to keep all our kids from boredom, please share.

Hi there! I just clicked over here from Brook's post and i just wanted to let you know I am loving your blog :) My mom had a similar box of art supplies that she would fill to the brim come summer break! And what hot summer day would be complete without a good run through the sprinkler :) Happy Tuesday from your newest follower!

two more days!? i'm so jealous!! we have two 1/2 more weeks. :( but hey. that gives me time to shamelessly copy you on the art box situation. i'm totally doing that, and moving a card table to the yard. i have the oilcloth and everything. thanks for the inspiration.

The same thing has been on my heart. Making intentional memories this summer. All the while not wanting to ship my children off to summer camp two days in. Patience, sacrifice. All that fun stuff.

As soon as I started reading this, I could hear the High School Musical kids chanting "Summer" in my head!
