"we encourage" - That Good Idea

Do you do what I do?
I hear a great idea and I think to myself, "what a great idea!".
And many times that is where it ends.

So today I plan on changing that.
Over the past week two women I love dearly gave me two wonderful ideas and I plan to implement them.

Last weekend I spent time with this lovely. I admire her more than I can say. She is one of the most thoughtful people I know.

Leslie told me about the "book club" she does with her kids {who are the same age as my 2 oldest}.
She sets aside time during the week to read aloud to them. I have been having them read quietly during the day but I love this idea. What a great way to spend time together! I know her kids are going to have wonderful memories of that time spent with her.
It will be a bit challenging because I will need to find something to keep my little ones busy but I'll figure something out.
So I plan to start "book club" this week.
And I think we will start with this...

Thanks Leslie!

After a great weekend I was blessed to vacation with my friend Tracy.
She also happens to be an amazing  christian author and speaker. I love her.
A bunch of us ladies were talking and Tracy shared with us how she remembers to pray for her children's future spouses.
This is something I know is important and something I don't do nearly enough.
She explained how she has one vase for each of her children. When she has pennies, from the laundry or where ever else, she puts them in her son's vase and prays for his future wife and their marriage. The pennies are being saved for his rehearsal dinner.

Silver coins get saved for her daughter. When she adds them into the vase she prays for her daughter's future husband. These coins will one day help pay for her wedding.
What a gift she is giving them.
What a gift she gave me by sharing this.

I am constantly amazed by the women the Lord has put into my life. I am eternally grateful for their wisdom, creativity and heart to serve the Lord.

Ok friends, take that good idea you recently found and make it happen. I know you'll be blessed by it.

Love, love, love both ideas but especially the prayer and loose change idea! Getting "pinned" now so I can spread the word and remember to do it. Thanks Jami and Tracy.
