love for uganda

well there is some exciting happenings over here.
a couple of days ago hubby and i made a decision not to let fear or excuses stop us from doing what God commands us to do.

Religion the God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
James 1:27

two days later, hubby has joined a mission team going to uganda this summer.
it's crazy how the whole surrendering thing works right?
i am so excited for him and the rest of the team. i know it will be an incredible experience.

in the book of James, Jesus tells his disciples, "If you love me, you will obey what I command."
{James 14:15}
i think hubby and i both realized we were obeying, if it was easy. if it wasn't really inconvenient. that's hard to admit.
we are commanded to love out neighbor as ourselves and to make disciples of all nations. but we have been doing very little outside of our comfort zone to accomplish these commands.
here is where that ends.
this is when we commit to not just use our time, talents and treasure, but to use them sacrificially.
this is where our hearts sit as we prepare for this exciting journey.
i hope you will pray for him as he heads out to care for and teach the children in uganda.

i will be posting more details about what the team will be doing and the organization they will be working with on monday.

here is where i ask for your help. we are in a time crunch and need to raise $2800 very quickly.
but it's gotta be fun sooooo...

some of my favorite shops (and ladies) have teamed up to to offer you some amazingly beautiful stuff.

the shops participating include:

and probably some goodies thrown in by yours truly.

please come visit on monday {5/13} to get all the details and spread the word.
